Brady texted Shedeur after draft slide: 'Use it as motivation'
Tom Brady offered some words of advice to Shedeur Sanders after the former Colorado quarterback slipped out of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
During an appearance on Logan Paul's "Impaulsive" podcast Tuesday, Brady revealed that he sent a text to Sanders encouraging him to use his draft slide as motivation. Brady also pointed out the fact that he wasn't selected until sixth round of the 2000 draft.
"I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well," Brady said. "I said, 'Dude, whatever happens, wherever you go, that's your first day. Day two matters more than the draft. I was 199. So, who could speak on it better than me, like what that really means? Use it as motivation. You're gonna get your chances. Go take advantage of it.'"
Brady, who's a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, said he wasn't sure why Sanders fell in the draft, as he wasn't involved in the evaluation process.
Sanders eventually heard his named called in the fifth round of the draft, landing with the Cleveland Browns at pick No. 144.
