The Colorado Rockies signed shortstop Orlando Arcia to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Financial terms aren't yet known.

Arcia was released by the Atlanta Braves on Sunday after spending parts of five seasons with the organization.

The 30-year-old hit .194/.219/.226 with six hits and one RBI in 14 games this season before he was let go.

Arcia was an All-Star in 2023 when he posted a career-high 17 home runs and 65 RBIs.

The Rockies have been giving talented youngster Ezequiel Tovar the bulk of the starting reps at shortstop, but Arcia also has experience playing second, third, and the outfield.
