Magic Johnson apologizes for 'underestimating' Thunder
Magic Johnson admits he was wrong about the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Following their series-clinching victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, Johnson took to X to issue an apology to the Thunder for doubting them.
"I want to apologize to the Oklahoma City Thunder for underestimating them and not thinking they were ready to compete for a Championship," the NBA legend wrote.
Johnson also praised Thunder general manager Sam Presti.
"Oklahoma City Thunder's fan base needs to give their GM Sam Presti a standing ovation for putting together an amazing roster!" Johnson added.
The Thunder beat the Timberwolves 124-94 to win the Western Conference finals 4-1 and secure a spot in the NBA Finals, where they'll face either the Indiana Pacers or the New York Knicks. It will be Oklahoma City's first finals appearance since 2012.
