Teel entered the 2025 campaign as the 26th-ranked prospect and third-best catching prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.
The New Jersey native played well for Chicago's Triple-A affiliate, the Charlotte Knights, this season, slashing .295/.394/.492 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs in 50 games.
Chicago acquired Teel in a five-player swap that sent pitcher Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox last December.
The White Sox optioned catcher Korey Lee to Triple-A and designated right-hander Ryan Cusick for assignment in corresponding moves.
