Canada Soccer and men's national team coach Jesse Marsch are under investigation for undisclosed "incidents" during the team's 2025 Gold Cup opener against Honduras on Tuesday, CONCACAF announced.

The governing body said it would examine evidence that Canada Soccer and Marsch "disregarded regulations applicable to suspended match officials and used offensive language toward CONCACAF match officials."

CONCACAF's disciplinary committee will now "review all available evidence, including official reports," with information regarding any potential sanctions to be provided "in due course."

Canada won its tournament opener 6-0 at BC Place in Vancouver.

Marsch wasn't on the touchline for the lopsided victory, as he was serving the first of a two-match suspension for the red card he received during Canada's third-place Nations League game in March. That sending-off and subsequent ban resulted from an outburst toward the referee.

He watched Tuesday's dominant performance from a suite inside the stadium.

Canada is back in action at the Gold Cup against Curacao on Saturday. Assistant coach Mauro Biello, who assumed Marsch's spot on the bench against Honduras, will again lead the team.
