The Boston Bruins signed forward Tanner Jeannot to a five-year contract worth $3.4 million per season, the team announced Tuesday.

Jeannot became an unrestricted free agent after one season with the Los Angeles Kings, who acquired him from the Tampa Bay Lightning last June. The 28-year-old has struggled to produce offense over the past three campaigns, managing a combined 45 points in 198 games.

The Lightning traded a huge package of assets to the Nashville Predators for Jeannot prior to the 2023 trade deadline. He was a hot commodity at the time after scoring 24 goals in his rookie campaign.

While his offensive numbers have dipped since then, Jeannot remains one of the league's most physical forwards with more than 200 hits in each of his four NHL seasons.

The Bruins also added Viktor Arvidsson via trade on Tuesday.
