The Los Angeles Angels signed 2025 second overall pick Tyler Bremner to a $7,689,525 deal, according to Baseball America's Carlos Collazo.

Bremner's deal is more than $2.5 million below the slot value of $10,252,700 for the second pick.

The Angels' selection of the UC Santa Barbara right-hander sent shockwaves throughout the draft, as the 21-year-old wasn't expected to go ahead of other talents such as Ethan Holliday and Kade Anderson.

Angels scouting director Tim McIlvaine said the Angels liked the 21-year-old's changeup and felt like it separated him from more highly touted pitchers in the draft.

"There's a lot you can dream on," McIlvaine told The Athletic's Sam Blum after the draft.

Bremner went 21-9 with a 3.58 ERA and 12.0 K/9 in three seasons for UC Santa Barbara.
