Report: Bengals signing Desmond Ridder
The Cincinnati Bengals are signing free-agent quarterback Desmond Ridder, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Ridder appeared in six games for the Las Vegas Raiders last season. He previously started 17 contests for the Atlanta Falcons after being drafted in the third round in 2022.
The 25-year-old sat behind Marcus Mariota during his rookie campaign in Atlanta before claiming the lead signal-caller role. The Falcons traded Ridder to the Arizona Cardinals for wide receiver Rondale Moore in 2024 following a disappointing run as their starter the previous season.
Las Vegas claimed Ridder from Arizona's practice squad last year. He started one contest for the Raiders, throwing for 208 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a December loss to the Falcons.
Ridder will compete for a roster spot with Jake Browning, Logan Woodside, and Payton Thorne behind starter Joe Burrow.
