Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber joined an exclusive club Thursday, obliterating his fourth homer of the night in a rout of the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies went on to rout the division-rival Braves 19-4.

Schwarber is the 21st player in MLB history to accomplish the feat. He's also the third to do so this season after Eugenio Suárez (then with the Arizona Diamondbacks) and the Athletics' Nick Kurtz.

Prior to Suárez and Kurtz, no player had launched four home runs in a single contest since 2017. That season is coincidentally the only other campaign that featured more than one four-homer game (J.D. Martinez and Scooter Gennett).

Schwarber now sits at a career-high 49 dingers on the campaign. The 32-year-old is hitting .248/.370/.586 with 94 runs scored and 119 RBIs.

He came up in the bottom of the eighth inning with a chance to become the first player in MLB history to hit five homers in a single game. However, he popped out to shallow left field with infielder Vidal Bruján pitching.

"It was pretty cool to go out there and do that," Schwarber said postgame, according to Paul Casella of MLB.com. "And you get the opportunity for a fifth one …"

He added: "I shouldn't have even asked the question, but I was in the cage and I was like, 'How many guys have hit five? And nobody said anything, so I was like, 'Oh, OK, well that answers the question.'"

The Phillies now lead all other franchises in four-homer games.
