Lue expects Thompson to miss 2 weeks with ankle injury
Tyronn Lue provided an update on just how much time Tristan Thompson will miss.
The Cleveland Cavaliers head coach announced Monday that the starting center is slated to be sidelined two weeks, according to Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor.
Thompson missed Monday's 112-90 win over the Detroit Pistons with an ankle sprain suffered in the previous game against the Denver Nuggets. The two-week timeline suggests he'll miss the next six games before being re-evaluated, with his soonest opportunity to play coming March 19 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
If Monday's contest is any indication, Cleveland should be fine in his stead. Larry Nance Jr. drew his first start with the team in Thompson's absence and impressed with 22 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, and a dime in 32 minutes.
Thompson's averaging a career-low 6.3 points on 58.5 shooting to go along with 6.5 boards in 21.4 minutes per outing. The Cavaliers are 18-3 without him.
