Five-star high school prospect Anthony Edwards is staying close to home, announcing his commitment to Georgia on Monday.

The 6-foot-4 Atlanta native is the top-ranked shooting guard in the country and No. 5 overall on the 2019 ESPN 100 recruit board. He currently attends Holy Spirit Preparatory School.

Edwards attributed his decision to Bulldogs coach Tom Crean, who developed future NBA All-Stars during his time at Marquette and Indiana.

"I wanted to go somewhere for the next four years where I know I will be developed the most, so I chose Tom Crean because he had Dwyane Wade and Victor Oladipo," Edwards told SUVtv.

"Dwyane Wade didn't come in as highly rated, but he's going out as one of the best shooting guards in the game," Edwards added. "It shows me that (Crean) prepared him for the next level, so I feel like that's what I need."
