Angelo Gregucci's leadership at Alessandria didn't go unnoticed.
On Monday, Gregucci was appointed as Internazionale's assistant coach on a one-year deal until June 30, 2017, joining Roberto Mancini's backroom staff after his contract with Alessandria was terminated by mutual consent.
During his time as Alessandria's manager, Gregucci led the Italian minnow to the quarter-finals of the 2015-16 Coppa Italia. There, the club finally met its demise, falling 6-0 on aggregate to AC Milan. The phenomenal run marked the first time in more than 30 years that a team from the third division of Italy's football pyramid reached the tournament's final four.
