Italy officially unveils new manager Ventura
Giampiero Ventura is beginning his 21st job in management.
On Tuesday, Ventura was officially unveiled as Italy's manager at Coverciano and gave his first press conference as the Azzurri's commander.
Ventura, whose tenure at Torino was brought to an end by mutual consent in May, was appointed Italy's manager in June, but it was announced he wouldn't replace Antonio Conte until after Euro 2016.
"I'm happy, but mostly proud of being chosen to be a representative of one of the most significant national teams in the world," Ventura said. "I would like to thank Conte for leaving me a well-drilled squad with a good work ethic. Euro 2016 proved how important a good team spirit is to achieving targets.
"We want this to continue. I'll have three days to prepare for my debut against France. We'll work with the youth as they'll be essential in future. Our primary aim is to qualify for the World Cup. We'll slowly bring in younger players to help integrate them into the team. Any system works if executed well and everyone is on the same page as Conte showed."
#Ventura: "I'll build on the 23 man squad from #EURO2016. There are obviously plenty of young players to keep my eye on as well."

During Ventura's five years at Torino, he led the club back to Serie A and enjoyed a largely successful spell.
Italy kicks off its 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign Sept. 5 in Israel.
