Chelsea's completed the permanent sale of Mohamed Salah to AS Roma after the Egypt winger spent last season on loan with the Italian outfit, the Blues announced Wednesday.
The loan deal included a purchase option which Roma could trigger at any point during the term.
"Chelsea Football Club thanks Mohamed for his service and wishes him well for the future," the club wrote in a statement.
Salah has spent the last two seasons on loan in Serie A, first with Fiorentina in 2014-15 and then with Roma last season; during his time in the Italian capital, he made 42 total appearances, scoring 15 goals and helping Roma to a third-place finish behind Napoli and Juventus.
Salah joined the Blues in January of 2014 out of FC Basel in the Swiss league but failed to displace Willian to earn a starting spot out wide in Chelsea's attack.
