Juventus' Dybala suffered 'minor' thigh damage vs. Milan

Juventus looks set to be without the integral services of Paulo Dybala in the coming weeks, as the club confirmed the Argentine sustained a thigh injury in Saturday's 1-0 loss to AC Milan.

Dybala, 22, was forced off in the opening half of the contest at the San Siro, and with him left any semblance of threatening attacking play from the Bianconeri, who looked ponderous without their talismanic forward.

While the ailment has been diagnosed, a timeline has not yet been provided for his recovery.

"Medical examinations on Paulo Dybala have revealed that the Argentine sustained a severe knock to the posterior region of his right thigh," read part of a brief statement.

"Specifically, today's scan confirmed minor damage to the muscle, between first and second degree tearing, with the player set to be further assessed in the coming days to better define the gravity of the injury."

Juventus, still atop Serie A by two points after Saturday's setback, is set to embark on a vital week, with home tilts against Sampdoria and Napoli in the league before a Champions League encounter with Lyon.

Dybala, it seems, will miss all three games.

In his stead, Gonzalo Higuain will assume the majority of the scoring responsibility, while manager Massimiliano Allegri - still without exciting youngster Marko Pjaca - will need to figure out how best to compensate for the loss of his leading scorer from last season.
