Watch: Tonelli rockets late Napoli winner on much-awaited club debut

For Lorenzo Tonelli, patience is indeed a virtue.

One of Napoli's summer signings, the 26-year-old centre-back had to wait more than four months before playing for the club, but he made his debut a memorable one.

All alone in the centre of the 18-yard box, Tonelli hammered a 95th-minute winner to seal a 2-1 comeback win over Sampdoria.

The former Empoli man missed the first few weeks with a knee injury, though he failed to break into Maurizio Sarri's rotation even when he was healthy.

A rare opportunity arrived Saturday in the absence of Kalidou Koulibaly, who's away on Senegal duty at the African Cup of Nations, and Tonelli ran with it.

The win is an important one for Napoli, which is now tied with second-placed Roma on 38 points.
