Schick's transfer to Juventus cancelled
Juventus has abandoned a move for promising Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick.
Nearly a month after Schick underwent a medical at Juventus' training base, both clubs decided not to finalise a transfer on Tuesday.
Juventus wanted to change the terms of the arrangement because of a problem with Schick's physical, according to Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Bianconeri had reportedly agreed to sign the Czech international on a permanent basis for €30 million. Once they determined an issue, they asked Sampdoria if they could take the player on loan and monitor his progress.
In an interview with Genovese newspaper Il Secolo XIX, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero called the situation a "farce" and accused Juventus of overreacting.
Ferrero can now place Schick back on the market. Roma, AC Milan, and Inter Milan had expressed interest in the 21-year-old before Juventus swooped in.
Schick rose to fame in the second half of last season, scoring 11 goals in 32 league appearances. Sampdoria acquired him from Sparta Prague last summer for €4 million.
