Leonardo Bonucci isn't set for an early retirement in the fashion capital, as AC Milan confirmed Thursday that the decorated defender inked a five-year contract with the club.

The 30-year-old shocked world football when he turned his back on Juventus - where he played a key part in the Old Lady procuring six consecutive Serie A titles - by agreeing a move to the Rossoneri last week.

Bonucci is the standout signing in a relentless transfer window from Milan, as the 18-time Italian champion has brought in 10 players using funds from a recent Chinese takeover. The summer business may not be over, with reported links to a string of more notable players, including Bayern Munich youngster Renato Sanches.

Bonucci is one of the planet's leading centre-backs, and made an incredible 89 interceptions last season for the Bianconeri - a club record - proving his tactical intelligence. He's lauded for his ease in possession, and his popularity has sparked swathes of copycat players throughout the European game.

He's expected become an instant leader of the Milan revolution, whether he succeeds Riccardo Montolivo as captain or not.
