Rome - Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio will be out for up to four weeks after suffering a knee injury, the Italian champions said Friday.
Marchisio has been suffering pain in the same left knee that was operated on in 2016 after he ruptured ligaments.
"He will be unavailable for three to four weeks," Juventus said.
The 31-year-old will struggle to recover in time for Juventus' opening Champions League group clash against Barcelona on September 12.
Marchisio, who was recalled to the Italian squad in June, will definitely miss the World Cup qualifiers against Spain on September 2 and Israel three days later.
