Report: Inter to complete potential €24M deal for Atletico's Vrsaljko
Inter have agreed to sign Croatian right-back Sime Vrsaljko from Atletico Madrid for as much as €24 million, according to Sky Sport's Fabrizio Romano.
An agreement was reportedly reached on a €6.5-million loan deal with a €17.5-million option to buy.
Vrsaljko would become Inter's seventh signing of a transformative summer window and claim a starter's role alongside Joao Miranda, Milan Skriniar, and Kwadwo Asamoah in Luciano Spalletti's four-man defense.
The move would also mark a return to Serie A for 26-year-old, who shot to fame during a two-year stint with Sassuolo between 2014 and 2016.
He slowly found his groove at Atletico over the next two seasons, supplanting long-time servant Juanfran in Diego Simeone's lineup. Vrsaljko then emerged as a protagonist in Croatia's unlikely run to the World Cup final, starting in six of his country's seven matches in Russia.
Spalletti can count on the Rijeka native to join the attack and provide timely crosses from the right flank. He recorded four assists in 21 La Liga appearances last season and supplied the ball for Ivan Perisic's equalizer in the World Cup semi-final against England.
That connection will now come into play at club level, with Vrsaljko set to join Inter winger Perisic and fellow international teammate Marcelo Brozovic at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
