Rome - Frosinone have sacked coach Moreno Longo and replaced him with Marco Baroni after a desperate run of results, the newly-promoted Serie A side announced on Wednesday.

"Frosinone Calcio announces that it has relieved Moreno Longo and his staff from first team coaching duties," the club said in a statement.

Longo took Frosinone back to the top flight last season after a single year in Serie B, but since returning they have won just one league match and are 19th, five points behind fourth-from-bottom Udinese, who they face on Saturday.

Baroni took Benevento to the top division for the first time in the club's history in 2017, but was sacked the following season after they became the first Serie A side to lose its first nine games of a campaign.
