Maxi Lopez returns to Sampdoria

Genoa, Italy - Sampdoria has bolstered its squad for the second half of the season after adding striker Maxi Lopez on loan for the remainder of the campaign from Catania.

Lopez spent time on loan at Sampdoria last term, scoring four goals in 17 Serie A matches, and he returns to the club after making just five starts for Catania this season.

The 29-year-old will hope to gain a regular place in the Sampdoria team and joins the club with Samp holding an option to make the move permanent.
