PHOTO: Andrea Pirlo is the most interesting man in the world

Reports out of Italy suggest Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo is set to become the new star of the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World" series of advertisements.

Okay, so I just made that up.

However, after laying your eyes upon the following photo of the bearded maestro, you will agree that the current star of the commercials simply doesn't cut it anymore.

The photo comes from a video that Juventus uploaded to its official YouTube channel on Friday, which takes a light-hearted look at how the on-field chemistry between Pirlo and wing-back Stephan Lichtsteiner came to be.

It's almost painful to think that there was a time when the 34-year-old was clean-shaven.
