Former World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro is under investigation for tax evasion.
Italian police say Cannavaro, who captained Italy to the World Cup title in 2006, has had assets worth €900,000 seized as they look into the financial records of a luxury boat rental service that the retired defender operated with his wife, Daniela Arenoso.
The prosecutor in Cannavaro's hometown of Naples confirmed that the company's financial dealings from 2005-2010 are being investigated "in relation to a massive tax fraud."
