Ashley Cole's Roma career under threat after he's left out of pre-season squad
Ashley Cole was left out of Roma's 26-man squad to face Sevilla in Friday's friendly, and it could mark the end of his unhappy time in the Italian capital.
Cole joined Roma on a free transfer last year after his Chelsea contract expired, but he only played in 11 Serie A games over the 2014-15 campaign. This pre-season has seen the three-time Premier League winner make just one substitute appearance in a 3-0 loss to Barcelona.
The signs never looked good for Cole. Soon after his arrival at Roma he was caught lurking at the edge of a team photo:

It is believed that Cole could have the final year of his contract terminated, and the rumoured arrival of Lucas Digne on loan from Paris Saint-Germain looks to be a straight replacement for the left-back.
However, there is a chance Cole could just hang around on the periphery for a while.
