Roma's Edin Dzeko expected to miss 3-4 weeks with knee injury
Roma faces the possibility of being without Edin Dzeko for up to one month after the Bosnian forward twisted his knee during Saturday's win over Carpi.
The Serie A club confirmed that Dzeko will miss three to four weeks, and could be absent during the team's Champions League matches BATE Borisov and Bayer Leverkusen, including a handful of league matches.
"Following a knock to his right knee, Edin Dzeko has picked up a first-degree strain to his medial collateral ligament. He's expected to be out for three or four weeks," the team's medical staff said in a statement.
The injury also means Dzeko will likely miss Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro 2016 qualifier against Wales and Cyprus on Oct. 10 and 13, respectively.
It's a frustrating blow for Roma since Dzeko loss was coupled with news that Francesco Totti suffered a hip flexor strain, leaving the team without a true centre-forward.
Since arriving from Manchester City on a season-long loan in the summer, Dzeko has only managed to score one goal in six appearances.
