Juventus' board of directors appoints Pavel Nedved as club's vice-president

From winner of the Ballon d'Or, to director, to vice-president.

Juventus announced Friday that its board of directors appointed Pavel Nedved as the club's vice-president, marking a new chapter in the former midfielder's relationship with the Old Lady.

Nedved took the pitch at Juventus between 2001 and 2009 before ultimately hanging up the cleats, capturing four Serie A titles - or two, depending on one's stance regarding the Calciopoli scandal - and the 2003 Ballon d'Or during that time.

"I'd like to thank the president and the club for their belief in me so I can go on working for one of the world's top teams," Nedved said. "My role won't change much. I'll still be in daily contact with the players and coach, it's on the pitch where I can help the most."

In addition to the collection of silverware he helped Juventus acquire, Nedved is adored in Turin for remaining at the club after its involvement in the Calciopoli scandal resulted in relegation to Serie B.
