Juventus discovers Evra egg allergy undetected at Manchester United
Juventus got to the bottom of Patrice Evra's scrambled medical reports with former club Manchester United, discovering the left-back has an egg allergy.
The Old Lady shelled out €1.2 million for the left-back after a cracking eight-and-a-half-year spell in England - a move that went over easy with the team's fans.
Shortly after he was poached by the Turin club, however, the egg allergy was discovered.
"When I came here they said I'm allergic to eggs, and I ate them every day in Manchester. I was vomiting in training at first," the 34-year-old told BBC Radio 5, according to ESPN FC.
"I went to the hospital and they told me I had been playing with an ulcer and I was lucky it was not bleeding inside."
His new club has laid down the law, with Evra now chickening out on egg-based foods.
The Frenchman was beginning to look a little fried toward the end of his Premier League stint under David Moyes, but feels reinvigorated since moving to Italy in 2014.
"I have learned a lot - how to be more professional, even if I was professional in Manchester," the full-back said.
"Here in Italy, football is more like a chess game. You have to think about every move."
Juventus returns to Serie A action on Nov. 21, when it'll look to hatch a plan to whisk AC Milan away empty-handed.
