VIDEO: Inter Milan's Handanovic makes incredible save to deny Atalanta
Supporters in the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia should be forgiven if they celebrated a little prematurely when Atalanta midfielder Luca Cigarini unleashed a flying kick from point-blank range.
The acrobatic maneuver and execution looked destined to find the back of the net and give the hosts the lead, until Inter Milan netminder Samir Handanovic matched Cigarini's athleticism with a stunning save.
In what will likely be a candidate for save of the season, Handanovic instinctively lunged towards the Atalanta player and stopped the effort with his feet.
The save proved to be vital as Inter Milan failed to find score the go-ahead goal and drew even with the mid-table club.
The draw leaves Inter one-point back of league leaders Napoli with 40 points. Napoli will look to increase the lead when it hosts Sassuolo later in the day.
