Carpi takes Napoli's De Guzman on loan

Midfielder Jonathan De Guzman has left Napoli and joined Serie A struggler Carpi on a six-month loan deal as the 28-year-old bids to reignite his career.
De Guzman's last competitive appearance for the Partenopei came in April. A reported move to Bournemouth in the summer collapsed after he failed to appear for a medical, and a potential transfer to former club Swansea City also didn't materialise.
His agent said earlier in January that the midfielder's time at Napoli was "evidently finished," and the player decided to undergo surgery on his groin.
De Guzman will now attempt to rebuild himself at Carpi, which is fighting for survival in its maiden Serie A season.
