Buffon rules out Juventus exit
At this stage in his career, there's virtually nothing that could tempt Gianluigi Buffon into leaving Juventus.
The veteran netminder pledged his allegiance to the club he's represented for more than close to 15 years, saying that a dramatic wage hike would not be enough to lure him away from Turin.
"Even if I were offered twice my salary elsewhere, I would stay at Juve," Buffon told French outlet So Foot, as translated by Sky Sports.
"Doing so would make me proud as it is a worthy thing to do.
"I want to play at this level until I'm 40, then that will be it."
Buffon has already mentioned that he plans to retire after the 2018 World Cup in Russia - assuming Italy qualifies - saying he intends to "bring down the shutters" on his illustrious career.
The 38-year-old is, however, open to the idea of a role in management, but such a position would likely occur outside of Europe.
"But only if I can realise my ambition of reaching the very top," Buffon said when quizzed about a managerial role. "I'm looking at the USA and China, nations rich with huge potential who could be winning big prizes in a dozen years or so."
