for all the marbles
Although a title is not on the line, this is one of the biggest trilogy bouts in UFC history. Conor McGregor won by KO in the first fight; Dustin Poirier won by TKO in the rematch. Now, at UFC 264 on July 10, the two lightweight stars will settle the score.

What's at stake?
The winner between Poirier and McGregor will likely go on to face Charles Oliveira for the UFC lightweight title. A win for Poirier would set up a long-awaited second shot at undisputed gold, while a victory for McGregor would prove he still belongs at the top of the division.

what if mcgregor loses again?
Based on how the rematch played out earlier in 2021, a McGregor defeat is a realistic scenario. Not only would McGregor lose some star power with a second consecutive defeat to Poirier, but it would also indicate that the Irishman's best days are behind him.

close fight on paper
The odds for Poirier-McGregor 3 are dead even. McGregor is great at making adjustments after losses, as seen in his 2016 rematch with Nate Diaz. Even though Poirier had a great night in January, it wouldn't be wise to count "The Notorious" out completely.
