Dembele vs. Bastoni

Of all the Champions League final's blockbuster battles, the one between Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele and Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni could have the biggest impact on Saturday's result. Dembele can win matches with his clinical finishing, while Bastoni's tactical awareness and defensive prowess have been integral in helping Inter reach another final.

Dembele, Ligue 1's joint-top scorer, is looking to cap off the best season of his career with a Champions League title. Few defenses have been able to contain him, but it could be a different story when the free-roaming Dembele drifts into the path of Inter’s imposing center-back. Inter's odds of winning may depend on Bastoni's ability to limit space and chances for the high-scoring Frenchman.

Donnarumma vs. Sommer

There's a good chance these clubs wouldn't be in the final if wasn't for the superb goalkeeping performances of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Yann Sommer. It's hard to envision PSG or Inter Milan making it out of the semifinals without them.

After shutting down Arsenal, Donnarumma will hope to do the same against Inter's potent attack. The assignment at the other end will be just as difficult for PSG against Sommer, who was named Man of the Match after making several crucial saves against Barcelona in the second leg.

Mendes vs. Dumfries

One of the main avenues of attack in Saturday's final will be on the wings, where Nuno Mendes and Denzel Dumfries are bound to cross paths. Winning in the wide areas could be key in determining who lifts the trophy.

Dumfries evolved into a scoring threat this season and was instrumental in helping Inter beat Barcelona with five goal contributions over two legs. He's in impressive form, but his toughest test awaits against Mendes, who's widely regarded as the top left-back in football. Mendes' attacking talent could prove to be the difference in this matchup.

Luis Enrique vs. Inzaghi

There's no telling how much planning it takes to win a Champions League final. No known formula exists for capturing the sport's most coveted domestic trophy. But you can be sure that the tacticians at the Allianz Arena in Munich will be prepared for each other in Saturday's showdown.

Inzaghi's track record speaks for itself. After guiding Inter to an unexpected final appearance in 2023, he repeated the feat with an older squad that surpassed expectations again. While a disciplined approach could work in Inter's favor, they'll have to find ways to contain a more talented PSG side led by a previous Champions League winner. Luis Enrique has discovered a recipe for success; PSG's attack and defense are working as a unit capable of achieving the club's European dreams.
