A Family Affair

Family ties have always run deep in the world of sports. Father-son duos, brothers, and sisters have all starred - often at the same time - in their respective sports. Here are the greatest examples of families dominating North America's top leagues over the years ...

The Mannings 🏈

Most families dream of producing one NFL quarterback. The Mannings will likely have four. Patriarch Archie, a two-time Pro Bowler in the 1970s, saw his sons Peyton and Eli combine to win four Super Bowls. Peyton is one of the greatest QBs ever, and Eli helped author one of the all-time upsets in Super Bowl XLII. Archie's grandson, Arch, currently at Texas, is expected to be one of the top picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Currys πŸ€

Dell Curry was one of the NBA's first great 3-point shooters, draining 40.2% of his attempts from deep over a 16-year career. His son took that skill to another stratosphere. Steph, the first unanimous MVP in league history, changed the game with his prowess from beyond the arc. A four-time NBA champion with regular-season and Finals MVPs on his loaded resume, the Warriors icon is still adding to his enormous lead in all-time 3-pointers made.

The Griffeys ⚾️

Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. were the first father-son duo to ever take the field together in the majors. The elder Griffey is a two-time World Series champion and three-time All-Star. His son, meanwhile, is one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen. Griffey Jr., a first-ballot Hall of Famer, racked up 13 All-Star nods, 10 Gold Gloves, and an AL MVP and owned arguably the most beautiful pure swing in history.

This is the pinnacle for me. ... You can talk about the '76 batting race, the two World Series I played in, and the All-Star Games. But this is No. 1. This is the best thing that's ever happened to me.

The Hulls πŸ’

Scoring is in the Hull family's DNA. Bobby, the "Golden Jet," blessed with an unstoppable slap shot, led the NHL in goals seven times during his iconic career, finishing with 610 markers. His son was even more prolific. The "Golden Brett" sits fifth in NHL history after lighting the lamp 741 times. Both are Hall of Famers and Hart Trophy winners, and they're the only father-son duo to each score 50 goals in a season and 600 in their NHL careers.

Williams Sisters 🎾

This list wouldn't be complete without the most dominant siblings tennis has ever seen. Serena and Venus Williams combined to win 30 Grand Slam singles titles and are the only sisters to ever occupy the top two spots in the WTA rankings at the same time. As teammates, they captured 14 doubles majors and three Olympic gold medals.
