Sergio Garcia

Garcia is one of seven players to have finished inside the top 15 in both trips to Chapultepec. He ranked seventh in strokes gained: approach last week at Riviera, good for sixth best in the field.

Tiger Woods

Tiger makes his first career start in Mexico but historically dominates WGCs, boasting 18 wins. Expect Woods to quickly acclimate himself to the 7,700-foot elevation and have no problem dialing in his distances.

Hideki Matsuyama

Matsuyama quietly finished inside the top 10 at the Genesis Open, gaining strokes in all categories. With two top 10s in his last three starts, the 2016 version of Hideki appears to be back.

Rickie Fowler

After some well-earned rest following his Phoenix Open win, Fowler returns looking for his first WGC victory. He’ll have a strong chance of going back-to-back if he carries his Phoenix form into Mexico.

Brooks Koepka

Koepka is making only his second PGA Tour start of 2019 after playing twice in the Middle East. His tendency to perform in loaded fields makes him a serious contender in Mexico.

Bryson DeChambeau

If anyone is going to have the exact yardages calculated at extreme elevation, it’s DeChambeau, who’s making his first start in Mexico. He’s collected four wins and hasn’t finished outside the top 20 since August.

Justin Thomas

It will be interesting to see how Thomas rebounds after his collapse cost him the Genesis Open. He was the runner-up last year in Mexico and finished tied for fifth the season prior.

Jon Rahm

Rahm’s collected six straight top-10 results on the PGA Tour, including a victory at the Hero World Challenge. He finished tied for third at Chapultepec in 2017 and is primed for a similar performance.

Dustin Johnson

DJ won the inaugural WGC-Mexico Championship in 2017 and followed it with a T-7 showing a year later. He created little buzz last week at Riviera and still finished inside the top 10.

Rory McIlroy

Rory continued his impressive start to 2019 with his third straight top-five finish last week at the Genesis Open. He’s bound to break through if he keeps banging on the door.
