There's still life in the Erik ten Hag regime.
Manchester United were blindly ambling toward yet another setback in a miserable season when Aston Villa led 2-0 at the break. The visiting supporters mercilessly mocked Ten Hag, chanting, "You're getting sacked in the morning."
But United responded with an unexpectedly spirited second-half performance. Alejandro Garnacho scored twice and Rasmus Hojlund finally claimed his first Premier League goal in the 82nd minute to earn a 3-2 victory for Ten Hag's United.
Hojlund's strike sparked delirious celebrations at Old Trafford.

The much-needed win at Old Trafford followed news on Christmas Eve that Sir Jim Ratcliffe agreed to buy a 25% stake in the club, potentially heralding a new era. Dave Brailsford, who is expected to fine-tune the club's operations over the coming months, watched from the stands.
Before Aston Villa's visit, United hadn't scored over their last four matches while succumbing to three defeats and one draw. The encouraging comeback against Villa should buy Ten Hag more time before fixtures against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League and Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup either side of the New Year celebrations.
