While not a household name, Le Normand is a top La Liga defender with international experience and a European Championship. This transfer felt wrong. Troyes suffered back-to-back relegations, while their supremely talented winger Savinho flourished on loan at PSV Eindhoven and, most notably, Girona. He then left for Manchester City without playing a game for Troyes. City, Girona, and Troyes are all under the City Football Group umbrella. But whatever you think of the deal's background, that doesn't negate the fact that the 20-year-old is immensely skillful and entertaining and looks like a serious bargain at €40 million. - Rouse

PSG aren't gambling on Neves. By the time they decided to fork over the cash for the teenager, he had already made 65 first-team appearances for Benfica. Even then, the Ligue 1 giants paid less than half of the player's reported €137-million release clause. It's hard to understand this deal from a Paris Saint-Germain perspective.
