Athletic Bilbao defeats Augsburg to qualify for Europa League knockout stage

Athletic Bilbao secured qualification for the UEFA Europa League round of 32 Thursday by defeating FC Augsburg at the Augsburg Arena in Germany.

A pair of late goals by Aritz Aduriz, scored in the final 10 minutes of the match, saw Bilbao surge back from 2-1 down to claim a 3-2 victory and all three points.

With the win, Bilbao sits top of Group L with 12 points in five matches; the Spanish side has one last group stage match to play, hosting AZ Alkmaar on Dec. 10.
