What they said after PSG beat Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg

Key quotes after Ousmane Dembele's early goal gave Paris Saint-Germain a 1-0 win at Arsenal in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday:

"It's a good statement, it's very hard to win here. We thought that in October (when PSG lost 2-0). We played well even if we didn't have the ball like we usually do. That's what good teams do, when they have to defend, they defend. We have to adapt to each match."

-- PSG midfielder Vitinha told Canal Plus

"We could have scored more today, but we're happy with this result. It's not finished but it was a good display of teamwork."

-- Vitinha on his side getting the job done in London

"I said in the pre-match press conference, there were people who didn't believe in us but we don't care about these people.

"These incredible supporters who have backed us here and at the Parc (des Princes). We are all in this together. It is not over yet. We will need to put in a great performance at the Parc, but we are pleased with this result."

-- Vitinha looking forward to next Wednesday's return leg

"The work's not over. We've won one match but the tie will be decided over two.

"We looked Arsenal in the eye, we put in the work, played our football and we won."

-- PSG striker Goncalo Ramos

"They started quick with a goal and they dominated the first 15-20 minutes but after that we dominated most of the game, created the chances. (Gianluigi) Donnarumma made some good saves. It's only half-time, we take positives. They are a top team but credit to the players for the effort -- we could've won the game."

-- Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya told Amazon Prime

"(We'll) Try to approach the game the same way. We played well, we put them on the backfoot, hurt them and we created a lot of chances as well. We know we can win against any team."

-- Raya on how Arsenal can turn round the tie next week to reach the final

"We weren't surprised, we knew PSG were a very good team. We started poorly, as we were a bit dominated in the first 20 minutes, but we have to look at the positives because we woke up afterwards even if we weren't able to equalise.

"It's 1-0, we mustn't get down, there's a second match. We know that in the Champions League, a lot of things can happen."

-- Arsenal centre-half William Saliba
