Toronto FC appoint Bob Bradley as head coach, sporting director
Toronto FC have appointed Bob Bradley as their new head coach and sporting director, the Major League Soccer club announced Wednesday.
"I have seen firsthand the passion that Toronto has for football and the way the club has connected with the city," Bradley said. "I look forward to putting a team on the field that will make our fans and supporters proud."
Bradley joins a TFC side that his son, Michael, has captained since 2015.
The former United States men's national team coach enjoyed four years as the inaugural head coach of Los Angeles FC before departing last week.
Bradley's arrival comes a day after Toronto FC announced that Javier Perez would not return as head coach for the 2022 campaign. Perez took charge in July after TFC parted with Chris Armas but failed to turn the season around as the club finished second-last in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto FC also announced general manager Ali Curtis' departure earlier this week.
Along with Bradley's wealth of experience coaching MLS teams, the 63-year-old has managed European squads such as Swansea City and Le Havre. Bradley was also in charge of the Egyptian national team after his five-year spell coaching the United States.
