It won't be long before Manny Machado receives one of these awards for his performance in the majors.

Following three straight wins en route to capturing first in Pool C, Dominican Republic's stud third baseman was named group MVP on Sunday. The 24-year-old hit .357/.400/.643 including a clutch, solo home run in Saturday's thrilling comeback victory against the United States.

Team USA also advanced to the second round after Sunday's dominant 8-0 win against Canada. The Americans finished with two wins and reaped the rewards of three terrific performances from their starters, who pitched a combined 12 1/3 scoreless innings with 15 strikeouts.
