Though it will be recorded as a routine 5-3 play, no one on the United States' 2017 World Baseball Classic roster will remember it that way.
On the mound to close out an 8-0 lead for the Americans, reliever David Robertson elicited a weak ground ball off the bat of Carlos Correa that failed to trouble third baseman Nolan Arenado, who promptly fired to Eric Hosmer at first to secure the United States' first ever World Baseball Classic title.
