UCLA is finalizing a six-year contract with Martin Jarmond to make him the school's next athletic director, sources told Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel.
The 40-year-old spent the past three years in the same position at Boston College. He was the youngest athletic director in a Power 5 conference at the time of his hiring, Thamel notes.
The Bruins' new athletic director will be tasked with addressing the school's $18.9-million deficit from the 2019 fiscal year. Prior to that year, which featured multiple high-level coaching changes, UCLA's athletics had not reported a loss since 2004, according to The Mercury News' Jon Wilner.
Dan Guerrero, who has led the Bruins' athletic department since 2002, is stepping down from his role in July.
