Watch: Syrian goalkeeper overhand serves ball for goal 'kick'

The goalkeeper is the only player on the football pitch legally allowed to use his hands, an exception that Syria shot-stopper Ibrahim Alma took full advantage of in this World Cup qualifier against Iran.

Rather than taking a goal kick in the 95th minute of this 0-0 draw, Alma opted to punch the ball, and actually managed to put enough force into the hit to send the ball flying well past the half-way line.

Captain Falcon would be proud.
