Wales ahead of England in latest FIFA ranking; Germany jumps back into 1st
Despite England enjoying a pair of wins over the latest international break, Wales managed to overpass its British neighbour and move into the top 15 of the FIFA rankings released Thursday.
Wales jumped five spots to 13th after producing a pair of significant victories over Austria and Moldova to keep its World Cup qualifying dreams alive ahead of next summer's tournament. England, meanwhile, dropped to 15th place even though the Three Lions won the only two matches since the last ranking was published.
World Cup and Confederations Cup champion Germany moves back into the top spot, usurping Brazil, while European Champion Portugal rounds out the top trio after climbing three places.
Elsewhere, Italy dropped five spots to No. 17, while Denmark made one of the bigger jumps up the rankings by vaulting 20 places into 26th after dominant wins over Poland and Armenia.
