The captain from Argentina's squad at Rio 2016 is moving to SC Internacional.
On Thursday, Internacional announced the signing of Victor Cuesta from CA Independiente, as the Argentinian centre-back put pen to paper on a four-year contract. The transfer is valued at R$ 6.1 million, which will be paid in four installments, according to Globo Esporte's Tomas Hammes.
Cuesta arrived in Porto Alegre, Brazil on Friday and received a warm welcome from Inter's torcida.
Cuesta, a product of Arsenal Futbol Club, was called up to Argentina's squad for the Copa America Centenario and, despite only starting one game, scored in La Albiceleste's 3-0 victory over Bolivia. He subsequently wore the captain's armband for the national team at Rio 2016, but couldn't lead his country out of the group stage.
