VIDEO: Neymar tries to gift referee with game-worn jersey, gets denied
Reuters
Brazil forward Neymar is one of the most popular figures in South American football. Being presented a game-worn Neymar shirt would be a gift that many in the continent would accept with a grin on their face, doubly so if it was personally delivered by the Barcelona man himself.
But, Colombian referee Jose Buitrago knows better, and shook his head and offered a "no thank you" as Neymar ran over to hand him his shirt at the end of Brazil's 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Peru.
Neymar laughs as Buitrago turns down the present, which is for the best, as, had he taken it, Buitrago's picture would have probably run on the front page of the sports sections of every newspaper in South America.
Worth it?
