Canada's Ingram says mom was in tears following quarterfinal win
Oh, the life of a hockey mom.
Canadian goaltender Connor Ingram battled Monday night to help his team earn a gutsy 5-3 victory over the Czech Republic to advance to the semifinals of the 2017 World Junior Championship.
Ingram turned away 16 of the 19 shots thrown his way, but admits that the highlight of the night may have been when he met with his mother postgame.

Ingram's mother - like most hockey moms - has been a nervous wreck throughout the tournament. Things have gotten so bad that Ingram admits he's tried to avoid telling his mom if he will be starting games.
"I usually know a little early if I am going to play or not," Ingram told TSN's Mark Masters. "I've been going out of my way to make sure my mom doesn't find out because I know she won't sleep.
"I almost feel bad for her, it's tough to see her like that, but there's nothing I can do about it."
Canada's head coach Dominique Ducharme admitted Tuesday that he is still undecided as to who will start between the pipes in Wednesday's semifinal against Sweden, but you can bet Ingram's mom will be the last to know.
