Canada's Schneider suspended 1 game for headshot

Team Canada defenseman Braden Schneider has been suspended one game for his hit to the head of Germany forward Jan-Luca Schumacher on Saturday, the IIHF announced Sunday.
Schneider leveled Schumacher about nine minutes into Canada's 16-2 rout.

Officials handed the Canadian blue-liner a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
Schneider is not an option for Canada's game against Slovakia on Sunday as a result of the ban.
The New York Rangers selected the 19-year-old - who plays for the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings - 19th overall in this year's draft.
