U.S. stymies Slovakia, advances to world junior semifinals

The United States earned a 5-2 victory over Slovakia in the quarterfinals at the World Junior Championship on Saturday night.
John Farinacci scored twice for the Americans, while Arthur Kaliyev, Cole Caufield, and Matthew Beniers also tallied for the United States.
The U.S. outshot Slovakia 43-18 in the game but led by one goal until Farinacci's dagger late in the third period.
Monday's semifinals are now set, as the U.S. will play Finland and Canada will meet Russia.
